Technically We Write is all about technical writing, technical editing, web content, usability, UX, and anything else you can put under the "technical communication" classification. And we celebrate all forms of technical and professional writing.

The annual National Day of Writing is next week, on October 20. And to observe that event, we plan to run a weeklong series of articles, roundups, and videos about technical writing.

We are a community, and we want to share the writing advice of our community! Please consider sharing a paragraph to answer these prompts. We'll include them in our roundup articles next week:

How did you get into technical writing? Whether it's a passion or just a job, we're all about technical and professional writing. What was your first experience?

Where did you write your first article? Your first published article is likely a memorable one. What was your first article about, and where did you publish it?

What word processor (or other writing tool or technology) do you use most of the time? We have a variety of tools we can use, allowing us to leverage the right tool for the job. But we always have our favorites. What is your favorite word processor, or other writing tool?

What recommendation would you give to a first-time technical writer? We get better with practice. From your perspective and experience, what would you recommend to someone who's just getting started in technical writing?
