Can I interview you about AI?
My students would love to hear first-hand about how you use AI in your work.
I teach a few university courses about technical writing, including one course about technical writing tools and technologies. In this class, students learn about different tools and apps and markup that technical writers often use in industry, such as "Docs as Code," HTML, Markdown, GitHub, Visual Studio Code, DITA, Oxygen, and concepts like book interiors, print-ready content, and writing on the web.
This semester, I've added a new section about "AI as a co-author" and I would love to interview a technical writer who regularly uses AI as part of their work. I know my students would love to hear first-hand from someone who isn't their instructor about how you use AI in your work.
I would like to record a 30 minute Zoom interview with you about how you use AI as a co-author. We'll talk about AI strategies, prompt engineering, approaches, and limitations in using AI for creation and revision. Bonus if you also use Gemini or Copilot, since those are tools that our students already can use through the university.
If you are unable to commit to a Zoom interview, how about an email interview? I can send you a list of questions that you can respond to on your own time, over a few days.
I'd like to record the interview by Friday next week, by September 26, so I can share the video with my students over the weekend.
