hello Celebrating the community

Our community celebrates technical writing in all its forms.

Technically We Write is a community of technical writers, technical editors, copyeditors, web content writers, and all other roles in technical communication. You can find articles about all forms of technical and professional writing. Our readers have a wide range of interests, from writing tools and technologies, editing, usability, web SEO, and anything else you can put under the “technical and professional writing” umbrella.

We are fortunate to have such a talented and engaged community who share their tips, best practices, and “how-tos” about technical writing. We wanted to share a selection of the most popular articles from Technically We Write into a book collection, as our way to thank and recognize everyone for what they do. But there was too much to put into just one book, so we divided the content into two books:

Perspectives in Technical Writing shares the experiences of different technical writers via a series of interviews. Thanks to Seth Kenlon, AmyJune Hineline, Robert J. Sawyer, Tim Eiler, Damon Garn, Italo Vignoli, Paul at Lulu, Radu Coravu, Don Watkins, David Both, Jeff Duntemann, and Brian Kernighan for sharing their personal experiences in technical writing. Edited by Will Decker.

Technical Writers Yearbook highlights several popular articles about technical writing practices and tools. Thanks to Ashley O’Brien, Chris Hermansen, Damon Garn, David Both, Don Watkins, John Hall, Robin Bland, Seth Kenlon, Shareen Mann, and Siobhan Climer for these excellent contributions. Edited by Georgia Harms.
