How to contribute to Fedora Linux documentation

The Fedora Docs project is an extension to the Fedora Linux project. The Fedora documentation provides extensive information on how to install and use the Fedora operating system and the software packaged by the Fedora Project.

As an open source project, Fedora Linux and Fedora Docs welcome anyone to contribute. And a few months ago, several members from Fedora Docs led an online workshop about how new contributors can get started. In the video, they walk viewers through the entire process, emphasizing that anyone is welcome to contribute, regardless of their technical background.

Getting Started: The first step is to establish communication by creating a Fedora account and joining the Matrix channels (specifically the Fedora Documentation and Fedora Join rooms).

Contribution Workflow: The process involves finding an issue, making changes, and submitting a pull request. They also recommend learning the basics of Git to manage changes, including forking the repository, cloning it locally, and creating a new branch.

Writing Tips: Keep documentation concise, simple, and empathetic. Avoid rewriting existing content; link to it instead.

Strategy and Scope: The team notes that there is currently a lack of a rigid strategy, and they are open to contributions that are accurate and relevant to Fedora, especially for new users.
